Catherine Pooler House Warming Party & Time out challenge 14

Hello all,

Yes, it's me again - Now that I have some dedicated craft time in the week, you will be hearing from me much more!! Today while looking at my Facebook feed, I found an
exciting competition with lots of prizes up for grabs to celebrate the newly redesigned Catherine Pooler website. If you have never come across Catherine Pooler, you really must!!! She is one of those I attribute my inspiration to really take card making seriously. She has loads of videos on you tube showing you how to make the most gorgeous cards and her newsletters are always full of great ideas. The competition (found here) is a 'housewarming party' and the theme of the challenge is 'home.' Straight away, a saying popped into my head…..'Home is where the heart is.' I am going very clean and simple lately with my cards and so I wanted this to be no exception. I decided on a white, black and a hint of gold colour scheme (one of my favourites) and I wanted the 'o' in 'home' to be a heart. I have heart dies cutters so this was straight forward to do. I unfortunately don't have a 'home' stamp (one to add to the wish list), so I used a mix of stamps to create the word.

I had planned to use alphabet stamps to write 'is where the heart is' but this was going to take too long and would look rubbish! I decided instead, for the very first time, to hand write on my card….sounds a bit crazy, but I think it works!!

So here is my clean and simple 'Home' card. Congratulations Catherine on your fabulous new website!!

The theme at Time out challenges is also - home sweet home with a very cool inspiration photo full of 'home sayings'….so my card fits in perfectly for that too!! Love it when that happens!!!

Thanks for taking a look, and any comments always very much appreciated xxx

  1. Let this be the first of many times you hand write your card! This is awesome... love the way you mixed the stamps and incorporated the heart as the O.

  8. Lovely card, it's what I call a smile card. And your handwriting - wow, it is BEAUTIFYL! You should show it off more often. I have to use the computer, print and cut to get anything I don’t have a stamp for and then that doesn’t always work well. I’m new to you blog but will come back for inspiration. Many thanks Laura.
