Watercolour pencils (I'd been swithering whether to get these but decided to take the plunge)
Art board
Masking tape
Masking fluid
a waterbrush
white perfect pearls
A few new stamps…..
Lots of other bits and pieces!!
I created two cards today- one is to be a wedding card for my friend and the other a birthday card for my little boy who turns 3 next saturday.
This wedding card is actually an exact replica of the card we were shown in the class. Usually I try to put my own spin on the card techniques, but I decided that Jennifer Maguire's card was just SO prefect and so I wanted to just do the same. I got to use my brand new watercolour pencils and also the perfect pearls. As per Jennifer's card, instead of using water with the watercolours, I used a water/perfect pearls solution. This gives and AMAZING sheen to the flowers, but that is so hard to capture in the photos.
I do feel that this card needs a bit of bling added by way of a few pearls or crystals but I have refrained for now….I might add them in later though!!
I will keep the card for my little boy as a separate post.
Any comments as always, so very much appreciated xxx
Wow, Laura, so much to applaud in this post! First: your shopping spree products look pretty amazing! Masking tape: yes! I've tried masking with various snippets of paper or post-it notes, with usually messy results. I may have to add the mp to my list, too! Now, about this card: GORGEOUS! STUNNING! EXQUISITE! Your friends will absolutely love this, as do I! You've used your new water-colour pencils beautifully (can I ask which brand you went with?) and the addition of the shimmer: WOW! You've created a work of art to be treasured! Love this!! Hugs~c
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, thank you for all your lovely comments. I am loving the class and am just learning so much each time. The watercolour pencils are fab -I decided to go for the Derwent Academy watercolour pencils. They were mid priced ones but I find they are very good. They are best used with a water brush and I find I get a better result by taking colour directly from the pencil tip with the watercolour brush. I adore this floral set from Clearly Besotted - One I would definitely recommend if you don't already have it!! xx
